participation

Participation is what happens when people come together. As society and technology change, the way in which we participate also changes. Just as it’s easier than ever before to form a community of interest online, it’s often harder to maintain traditional community relationships than in the past. Participation is not neutral, but a product of it’s environment: different countries, companies and communities foster different cultures of participation from French strikes to the Tokyo work ethic. The trick is to create the culture of participation you need to meet the challenges you face.
